Balance is key. Where the wind roams without borders, and the grass are caught up in a song only they can sing, there is a cattle-herd with wisdom fit for a king. And it’s a quiet night tonight, his cows asleep from the heat of the day.
He loves them enough to know that mediocrity is the best for them. He knows of nightmares that would turn any simpleton into a learned man; knows enough to not become too greedy or lazy in this life.
It’s not easy, like walking a tightrope. But if he practices, and keeps his eyes straight in front, he won’t fall, and eventually it will become easy enough to make it seem effortless.
