The Sheep and the Goats

There was a fundamental difference between the two, which is that one can’t do anything by himself, while the other prefers to lead his own life.

But even in the occasional mindlessness of the former, one can still find obedience and a willingness to be led, while the other wanders alone in dangerous paths. There’ll be no one to carry him home if he falls, and so even though neither of them are better than the other, the sheep become greater, because humility and submission are both lessons that strengthen a character more than the lesson of leading.
