The Watchman

He has two tasks, and two tasks only – to turn down strangers, and stay awake. But even he has the attention span of a raven, caught by the glimmer within goblets of wine. There is nothing weaker than his heart, yet he follows it anyway.

So he says yes and lays his head down to rest, and dreams of nothing but clothes to hide in, glass walls to climb, and doors that aren’t supposed to open.
