Unclean

He hasn’t showered or washed for a long, long time, and even though he somehow managed to get used to his own smell, it’s pretty clear others find him more than repulsive. It’s a certain type of disgust he sees on strangers’ faces; not the kind that makes them frown or give voice to their disgust, but the kind that avoids eye contact before turning away.

He’s much more used to frontal attacks and in-your-face conflict, so he’s not quite sure what to do except to ask others to pray for him and spend money like dirty water.

He likes to think of himself as a good man, but he knows no matter how forgiving others may be of his shortcomings, the only one he can’t seek forgiveness from is himself.
