Persistence

There’s a fine line between being a pest and being persistent, and the difference lies not in whether the outcome is positive or not, but in the reason why the world would finally give up a path for the one who doesn’t retreat.

The hare is being a pest, because she gave into his demands out of an eye-rolling type of annoyance rather than any real desire to let him have his way. But in doing so, she learns a lesson the hard way, and when it’s her turn to be persistent, she resorts to cunning instead, and escapes from all the horrors that could have been.
