It’s not his appearance or his personality that makes him a perfect fit for such a purpose, but rather his gift. And if everything he says comes true, then it makes him more honest than the forces of nature.

There’s something brutally unfair about the entire situation, because equality is only a good idea if you’re on the losing end of the scale, and someone who can bounce from the bottom to the top is the definition of ‘lucky’ (and luck is never fair). So he reaches this transcendent state, gets a son and a wife and an entire kingdom, and the only thing that doesn’t change is his name.
