The servant girls and other staff on break take a look at the fading shadows, and to one of the girls, he’s been revealed – most likely betrayed by his actions and the expression on his face.
He tried to deny it, but she persists – insists, in the only way a woman can.
Finally, when even his blood-features betray him, he turns to deny them, and finds that his heart has just betrayed his dearest friend and made a traitor out of him.
