The Straightest Arrow

Others have often told him that he’s much too straight, straighter than an arrow and sharp enough to pierce the archer’s steady hand, but he prefers to think he’s still an anomaly hidden inside the quiver.

When he’s finally drawn – called – from his resting place, set, pulled back and fired, he hopes he’ll leave a whistling trail of words that leads the lost straight back home, where they can be laid to rest.
