The Fake Prince

He thinks he’s much too old for this, even if he’d been called to this task a decade or two ago. He no longer holds any authority over anyone, nor does he have confidence or pride in his abilities.

The fear of speaking publicly is a crippling fear for a prince, and he’s not even a prince anymore, so who would be willing to overlook his stammering when there’s no reason to even admit him back into the royal courts?

Some “saviour” he is; called to rescue his people out of slavery and oppression. He sees his despair reflected in their weary eyes, and somehow, he’s more worn out than they are.

His fear has worn him out, so he wraps his hands around his staff and expects a miracle.
