The Marriott Theatre had its final showing of Fiddler on the Roof today at 5pm, with Ross Lehman starring as Tevye. Believe it or not, it’s the first time I’ve seen this old yet wonderful classic musical, and it was a great joy and a tearjerker at the same time. The singing in particular was wonderful – what would we do without our vocal cords? Sure, we might not be able to warble beauty like birds can, but I still think the things people can sing are fantastic. I also believe humans are the only creatures on earth who can actually harmonise to produce music as one unit in a very organised fashion. What I would give to sing well…! But I’m content with what I can do right now. Don’t stop singing; let your voice rise and converge with the world around you!
